Piedmont Landscape Association Seminar
The upcoming seminar will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2012, in the beautiful Paramount Theater located on the historic Downtown Mall in Charlottesville, VA. Registration information will soon be available on our website (www.piedmontlandscape.org). In the meantime, the following provides a little more information than is provided in the attachment.
William Cullina, Director of Horticulture/Plant Curator from The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay, Maine. Cullina is a well-known lecturer, author, and a recognized authority on North American native plants. His book, Native Trees, Shrubs, & Vines, is considered to be the definitive book in the field, a Bible of sorts to the native plants person.
Gordon Hayward, Designer, Lecturer, and Author from Hayward Gardens in Putney, Vermont. Hayward will speak on the topic of stone in the garden.

First LEED Gold Certification for Multi-Family Development in South Carolina & by the way they are Affordable Housing!
Phase two of the Daniel Island Apartments and Grandview Apartments in Charleston have recently earned the first LEED gold certification in South Carolina for multi-family development. Both are being developed by the Humanities Foundation, a local leader in the development of affordable housing projects. They specialize in teaming local funding with federal tax credit initiatives for affordable housing across the southeast.
